FAQ

Do parents have to be present?

No, the parent must sign the "Parent Release" form allowing the University of Houston to administer an examination without their presence. Any child who does not have a parent release form will not be seen. If a parent would like to be present, they will be permitted on the bus if space is available.

How many students can the Vision Van see in a day?

The vision van can examine 12-18 students per day. The majority of these students should be  Eye Care for Kids approved applicants. However we can see a few Medicaid students to meet the gap.

When will students receive their glasses, and what is the selection like?

Students receive their glasses in 1-2 weeks, depending on their prescription. Students  have a nice selction of colored frames that appeal to youngsters of all ages.
